I remember way back when the original NASP Position Paper on RWOL came out. When was that, about ten or so years ago? We were having a countywide meeting and the question was asked, "What should we do if anyone comes to us and asks about really radical and off-the-wall approaches, like Rights Without Labels?" The answer (I remember it like it was yesterday), "Well, that would be illegal, we have to identify a condition to serve students and obtain funding. That would never work." So there you have it. A simple "No." RWOL was dead in my county for the next ten years. Until now. |
