Welcome, and thank you for visiting the RWOL Forum, established March 10th, 2007.
The forum is a living, working, ethical document addressing the national educational crisis and, if we reach our goal, will help shape American education for the better.
This is a big board, with plenty of room for participation for anyone interested. This board addresses important topics for everyone.
There is an important place for you in the RWOL movement. As part of the Forum, you might choose to step forth and become a national leader here.
On the surface, RWOL appears to center in on "name calling" (labels). Some may think it's "much ado about nothing." But RWOL actually confronts the root and core of everything we do in public education -- RWOL challenges us, at the very minimum, to think about what we do on a daily basis, and ultimately, to question what we are doing, how we are doing it, why, and if we should even be doing it at all.
As we address and debate real-life difficulties, no insensitivity is ever intended toward anyone, especially anyone with a real disability -- the purpose of RWOL, and the RWOL Forum is to find and provide effective and empowering services for people with disabilities.
I am starting this board because I think what we do in education is very important. I think it's important to courageously and heroically respond to our nationwide educational crisis. I think we can and should do a few things differently -- you probably do too.
But RWOL isn't about me... I will feel free to forward my views here, but in order for significant changes to occur on a large scale, we need input from you. Hopefully, many of you will soon be actively involved, running/moderating this board.
I've tried to provide enough here to get started, but I'm only one voice and I do not pretend to be the sole spokesperson for an entire philosophy. We need you to join the RWOL Forum -- and the RWOL movement -- and help education move forward. RWOL is what you and I make it. Please register, participate, and invite others to join.
The students need you and I now!
