I admit it! I guess I'm for educational revolution now.

If I had my way, RWOL would start nationwide tomorrow morning at eight o'clock.

Quick change.

I've been writing about this topic for the past five or more years, so it doesn't seem like "quick" change to me. I've been thinking about this topic for the past twenty.

I tried, I really tried to find a learning disability. I spent the first ten years of my career diligently testing students, labeling students, and placing students. But I still haven't discovered what SLD actually is. You see, SLD is apparently invisible.

RWOL is not something I thought up last night at midnight -- it is a culmination of twenty years on the front lines of education, thinking about what I (and we) do.

We test students, call them "disabled," and place them into some special class. All of my experiences and knowledge suggest that we just stop it!

As you are considering your decisions and actions, please visit one of my past reflections regarding this subject at:

I know the world isn't going to change tomorrow just because some shrink in Bakersfield, California thinks it should -- but the educational world may change within a year or two based on what thousands of us think.
